My three day Kids and Families Yoga teacher training with Rainbow Kids Yoga was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to introduce yoga to children and families. The 75hr training course is Yoga Alliance certified and you’re able to get insurance to teach post-training.
We learnt a lot in the three days and luckily for me, my class was filled with wonderful people who are now friends and I’m still in contact with a few of the ladies I trained with. We covered topics including partner poses, group poses, trust exercises, sight meditation, yoga games and quiet time/relaxation techniques.
Our last day where we had to complete an assessment was slightly nerve-wracking but good fun at the same time. Our performance prop was a colourful yoga parachute which we used to create a short yoga sequence and incorporated a simple breathing techanique.
Kids Yoga Teachers
If you’re looking for a teacher near you, here’s a list of the teachers I trained with:
Louise Harris, Treefrog Yoga
Louise is an experienced primary school teacher and recently became a Rainbow Kids Yoga ambassador. Her energy and style is fun, infectious and exciting. She runs classes at Matspace Barefoot Studios in Framlingham but also teaches kids yoga in local schools and nurseries.
Charmaine, Little SunShines Baby Yoga
Charmaine specialises in baby yoga, toddler/preschool yoga and baby massage in the Croydon, Sanderstead, Purley area. Her yoga classes are available to parents and babies as young as 8 weeks old and aimed to support the child’s wellbeing and development as they grow. The classes are also fantastic bonding experience for both mum and child.
